Thank you for visiting the search website for Burr Oak Cemetery, BurrOak.Net. This site has been created by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to provide the public with the ability to search 43,555 photos in a database of marked, identified graves at the Burr Oak Cemetery.
This Website has now been updated with most of the headstone images at Burr Oak Cemetery, which are now searchable on this website. This website is now complete to assist families and loved ones in the search for the image of their grave while the cemetery is closed. Please understand that only graves with headstones have images included and are searchable on this site. The majority of individuals interred at Burr Oak Cemetery were buried without headstone markers and will therefore not be searchable on this site. We thank you for your patience; the Cook County Sheriffs Office has worked around the clock to complete this site for your use.
The requests that were collected at the cemetery, offsite locations, and taken by the telephone hot line have all been entered by our staff and provided electronically to the Receiver of Burr Oak Cemetery. The Cook County Sheriffs Office has also computerized all of the useable records at the cemetery, and those electronic records have also been handed over to the Receiver for them to integrate into their computer systems. These electronic records will be used by the Receiver to respond to the families and loved ones who have requested information about their loved ones.
Please be patient while the Receiver processes the response to your request. This work by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, and integration by the Receiver, will ultimately result in the computerization of these records for your convenience.
If you have new information that would be useful in our investigation, please fill out a convenient form HERE and select the "I want to report a crime..." option, and your information will be immediately sent to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department Investigations Unit.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and assistance during this tragic event. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the family, friends, and loved ones touched during these trying times.
Thank You,

The Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank County Board President Todd Stroger, County Clerk David Orr, and Clerk of the Court Dorothy Brown for their help in making this website possible.
